Desenvolver Competências de Problematização da Aprendizagem [Developing competencies for problematizing the learning process]

Abstract

The text presents a case study conducted in 2002/2003 with 1st year students of Education within the course Ecology and Education at the University of Minho. Its aim was to promote competences of inquiry into the quality of learning and course content, and the pedagogical strategy had two components: the negotiation of evaluation and the exploration of problem-situations, which encouraged the negotitation of perspectives and decisions in pedagogical interaction and the construction of knowledge. Some results regarding one dimension of the study are presented: the students’ perceptions about the learning dimensions involved in the collaborative exploration of problem-situations. Some recommendations emerging from the study are also pointed out as conditions that facilitate learner/ learning-centred pedagogy at university.
