Pontes (In)visíveis entre Teoria e Prática na Formação de Professores [(In)visible bridges between Theory and Practice in Teacher Education]

Abstract

The text can be read as an exercise to (re)elaborate my personal theory as a teacher educator. It derives from a case study conducted with thirteen teachers in a post-graduation course and it focusses on some dimensions of the link between theory and pratice in teacher education. Three examples are built from the analysis of experience-based reflective texts so as to highlight the potential value of narratives in the (re)construction of professional knowledge. The metaphor of (in)visible bridges points out the impossibility of not linking theory and practice and emphasises the ways in which we (do not) see that link.
