Abstract

In this interview, Noam Chomsky deals with the issue of education and defends the idea that schools should be spaces in which students should experience democracy. In his strong critique of the educational system in the US, he mantains that this has been a space of youth indoctrination. He insists that the myth of objectivity has been favoring the insterests of the dominant groups. Speaking on how schools could be, he declares that a good teachers knows that the best way of helping students to learn is to let them learn the truth by themselves. According to Chomsky, true knowledge comes from finding the truth and not from the imposition of big corporations’ oficial truth.
